We are cordially inviting four-legged guests (and their two-legged companions) to our "Top Dog Weekend" May 31-June 2nd.Canine family members will enjoy a pampered weekend complete with grooming, fresh baked dog biscuits, and plenty of time to run and enjoy the clean Vermont air!
The weekend kicks off Friday night, May 31, with doggie treats for canines and drink specials for their owners. The next morning everyone will enjoy some off-leash time at nearby Mills Riverside Park. Upon returning to the Resort, dog owners will take a hands-on cooking class, learning to make homemade doggie biscuits with healthful combinations like apple, oats, and peanut butter. Then, on Sunday morning, the pooches will all receive a doggie facial and a complete nail trim onsite, courtesy of our friends at Doggie Styles Natural Pet Grooming.
"We are rolling out the red carpet for our pet guests," says Jim Glanville, Vice President and General Manager of The Essex Resort & Spa. "Pets are family members and we recognize that our guest's vacation is even more fulfilling when their dog enjoys it with them."
The Top Dog weekend is $599 based on double occupancy and includes all weekend activities, nightly pet fee as well as a goody bag to take home with collapsible water bowl and toy for Fido to chew, play, tug or fetch.

Executive Chef Shawn Calley Defends Top Chef Title
The event was held at the Davis Center at the University of Vermont, August 6th.
Benefitting CVAA's Meals on Wheels and Case Management Programs, the Top Chef of the Champlain Valley was presented by KeyBank. Michael Clauss of the Bluebird Tavern and Andrea Cousineau of the Bearded Frog competed with Shawn for the Top Chef title.
